The Hayes Township Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will be holding a meeting at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Cafeteria Building at Camp Sea-Gull, 08580 Boyne City Rd., Charlevoix. Some Committee members may be meeting at 6:00 p.m. to organize a list of projects that need to be done. The public is welcome to participate.

The Planning Commission is holding a hearing on August 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Hall located at 09195 Old US 31 N., Charlevoix. The purpose of the hearing is to take public comment on an application from Abraham Dhaseleer & Erinn Beck for a Special Land Use Permit for Cottage Industry. The applicant is requesting permission to use the property as a “home base” for a small landscaping and odd job business. The property involved is located at 10905 Burnett Rd., Charlevoix with property tax numbers 15-007-111-009-60 & 15-007-111-009-70.

The Hayes Township Zoning Board of Appeals will meet on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hayes Township Hall located at 09195 Old US 31 North. The purpose of the meeting is to hear a request by Don Tuckey for a thirteen (13) foot variance, from Section 3.14, Lakefront setback regulations, to add an addition to the existing home to provide a handicap accessible entry and a variance from Section 3.02 Non-Conformities of the Zoning Ordinance, at 08040 Indian Trails, Charlevoix, property tax number 15-007-119-024-15.

The Hayes Township Board of Trustees will be holding a public hearing July 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hayes Township Hall, 09195 Old US 31 N, Charlevoix, MI. The purpose of this meeting is to take public comment on the preliminary findings of the recreation development of Hayes Township Park, Camp Sea-Gull. We encourage the public to attend. It is important to the development of Camp Sea-Gull to get as much public input as possible.
